“Get off the bitch train” is a phrase coined by Gary Vaynerchuk during an interview a couple of years back to describe people who, rather than going out and making something of their lives and doing what they want to do, simply sit back, let life wash over them and just damn bitch about it all the time.
They bitch about why they can’t do something. They bitch about every reason under the sun.
From the small things to the big things, they will bitch about it. If complains were currency, these people would be hitting the Forbes Rich List year after year.
As soon as I head this phrase it struck a chord with me.
So many people I know personally, or I simply deal with in my life seriously need to get off the bitch train.
I’m sure you know just as many people as me that take this as their default approach to life.
I have always been a positive happy-go-lucky guy (even if I haven’t always looked it ;)). But I’ll tell you right now, I am currently failing week in, week out with my goals. Seriously.
As many of you know, I am currently trying to develop an online business that I can use to fund my journey through this little thing we call life.
I’m failing week after week! Each time I sit down to come up with something new I go through a tonne of ideas and spend hours on them, before I doom them to failiure.
I must have been through 10 different business ideas in the last week. No kidding. Most of which I consider faliures (a couple I’m still looking into deeper).
Do you hear me complaining? No! Do my housemates, when they get in from work hear me complaining? No!
They hear all about it, but never do I complain. And it’s not out of some higher point I’m trying to make about people sitting on the bitch train throughout their lives, it’s because I see no need to complain.
Sure, I’ve failed more times over the past few months than I care to count, but with each failiure I learn something new. Often, in the case of website design, new ideas for product sales, or new takes on how to approach a market audience, I learn so much from a faliure I actually walk away from a failed idea happy as hell! :D
I know it’s cliche to say you learn from your faliures, but you really do.
Get off the damn bitch train. There’s no reason why you can’t so anything in life. Your only limitations are the ones you set for yourself.
